Still not yet bottled, the 2012 Gigondas showed considerably better this go around and I’m confident it will end up being an outstanding wine. Made from 75% Grenache and 25% Mourvèdre, it offers impressive ripeness in its smoked herbs, garrigue, olive and pepper-laced Grenache fruit. Medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated and even sexy, it will drink nicely on release and evolve gracefully over the following decade or more.  Rated 89-92 Points Wine Advocate.
